the big top

To tell the truth, I’ve always been more intrigued by the idea of the circus than the actual thing. I think I saw a classic three-ring circus once when I was a little kid, and I remember being kinda bored. Perhaps if it had had acts featuring little clowns tormenting powerless strongmen, it would have made more of an impression.

Personally, I prefer the solitary life of an artist to that of a performer, although sometimes I think stepping into the spotlight sometimes would be nice.

Like my friend Shitz the Clown says, “If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.”

You know, with AI replacing everyone’s job these days. perhaps going to Clown College isn’t such a bad idea.

As you can see, I’ve been Ring Master of this circus for a lot of years now; thirty by my count. Folks sometimes ask me if I’ll ever take off my top hat and hang up my whip, to which I reply the only way I’m leaving the big top is crammed into a little clown car hearse.
